Apparently Diablo II developers has decided that enough is enough. looks like I didn't need the no-CD loader after all. Now I can play Diablo II without swapping CD's. I copied the latter two files, as the first one already exists, into the Diablo II directory. I placed the original Diablo II Play Disc into my CD drive and found "D2CHAR.MPQ", "D2MUSIC.MPQ", and "PlAYD2.MPQ" on the disc. Please insert your Diablo II CD." message, shown in screen shot below. However, after copying the no CD loader files in to "C:\Program Files\Diablo II" and executing "D2Loader-1.12.exe", I got a "Couldn't load Diablo 2 MPQ files. Luckily, I found DIABLO 2 v1.12a NO-CD LOADER (22.7KB).
But now I've been spoiled by Steam, where none of Steam games requires the original CD to be inserted at start. Now, I am determined to pass the entire game. The first time, I had never gotten past Act I. I recently started playing Diablo II again.
